What this service covers
QuangAnhcons offers project-specific assessment and electrical integration for battery energy storage systems in Vietnam. The first step is to define whether storage is intended for solar self-consumption, demand control, backup or a combination, then coordinate the battery supplier, power conversion, controls and site safety requirements within a documented scope.
Discuss your project in English with our team. Our priority delivery area is Southern Vietnam; project location, access and mobilization are confirmed during quotation.
A defined scope from design to handover
Duty and feasibility study
Review load intervals, tariffs, solar generation, outages and critical loads. Compare operating scenarios and identify technical constraints before selecting a nominal battery size.
System and supplier coordination
Define battery chemistry/system architecture, PCS, BMS, EMS, auxiliaries, warranty duty and communication interfaces. Require project-relevant technical evidence from the selected equipment supplier.
Electrical and site integration
Coordinate AC/DC coupling, switchboards, protection, grounding, isolation, metering and generator/utility interfaces. Assess siting, ventilation or cooling, access, flood exposure and emergency arrangements with the responsible specialists.
Functional verification
Agree tests for charge/discharge limits, control priorities, state-of-charge limits, alarm handling, communications failure and any approved backup transfer mode.
Engineering decisions that shape your project
Power and energy answer different questions
Power in kW indicates how much load the system can support or offset at an instant. Energy in kWh indicates duration. A 100 kW/200 kWh label does not automatically guarantee two hours at 100 kW at the AC load after reserve, losses, auxiliaries and ageing are considered.
A transparent preliminary sizing example
For an illustrative constant 100 kW critical load for two hours, with an assumed 80% usable depth of discharge and 90% discharge-path efficiency, nameplate energy is at least 100 × 2/(0.80 × 0.90) ≈ 278 kWh before ageing, temperature, reserve and auxiliary allowances. PCS power, motor-starting demand and transfer behavior must be checked independently.
Financial value needs interval simulation
Model charge and discharge against actual demand, solar surplus, operating restrictions, efficiency and degradation. Energy shifting may have value where the tariff spread and operating pattern justify it. Any demand-charge benefit depends on the customer's actual tariff. Include replacement, maintenance, financing and supplier warranty throughput in the comparison.
Backup capability is an engineered operating mode
Grid-connected storage does not inherently supply a factory during a utility outage. Backup needs compatible grid-forming capability where required, electrical separation, protective coordination, neutral/earthing design and load prioritization. Set clear limits for motor starting, fault contribution, black start and generator interaction.
Safety and supplier evidence
A BESS combines electrical, thermal, control and site hazards. Review product safety evidence, system-level risk assessment, abnormal-event detection, emergency response and required fire-safety coordination. System chemistry or a certificate alone cannot replace the site-specific safety design or authority requirements.

Package
Studies, functional tests, training and documentation
Separate battery and PCS costs from electrical integration, civil work, thermal management, controls, specialist safety provisions and commissioning. Compare usable energy at the agreed duty and end-of-warranty condition, not nameplate kWh alone. The installation warranty and the manufacturer's capacity/throughput warranty cover different obligations.
From your brief to acceptance
Define the operating objective and collect interval load/generation data.
Model candidate power/energy sizes and explain assumptions.
Review siting, supplier evidence and electrical/safety interfaces.
Agree the design, responsibility matrix, BOQ and acceptance criteria.
Install and verify system controls and the approved operating modes.
Handover operating limits, monitoring, response procedures and warranty obligations.
Documents you should receive
Operating-duty statement and assumptions register
Preliminary sizing and scenario comparison
Single-line diagram and electrical interface schedule
Supplier technical evidence and safety responsibility matrix
Agreed functional test plan and acceptance records
O&M instructions, monitoring handover and warranty/throughput schedule
The quotation identifies included documents, review cycles, approvals, acceptance criteria, exclusions and warranty obligations.
Frequently asked questions
Can solar storage be added to an existing system?
Often, but the architecture must be assessed. AC-coupled and DC-coupled approaches have different compatibility, control and protection requirements; a site-specific design is necessary.
Can the Solar tool assess a battery option?
Where its input options support the intended configuration, it can assist preliminary comparison. Final BESS design still requires duty simulation, supplier data, siting assessment and verification of the intended operating mode.
Will storage always reduce the electricity bill?
No. Benefits depend on tariffs, demand timing, solar surplus, utilization, losses and capital/operating costs. Some projects prioritize resilience rather than energy savings.
Does a battery provide uninterrupted power?
Not automatically. The permitted interruption time, transfer equipment and PCS behavior must be specified and tested. Loads requiring no-break supply may need a separately engineered UPS arrangement.
Technical reference framework
Relevant engineering references are selected for the contracted equipment and installation. Applicable Vietnamese requirements, local network conditions, manufacturer instructions and the agreed design basis determine project compliance; listing a standard is not a certification claim.

Request a project quotation
Send your project details, BOQ or drawings to request a formal quotation. Fields marked * are required.
Quotation scope
Applies to one EVN-supplied substation with oil-immersed transformers at 22/0.4 kV (single-phase: 12.7/0.23 kV), with MV metering VTs/CTs supplied by EVN. The estimate includes the selected equipment, installation, earthing, transformer-to-main-breaker connections, design and connection documentation, and coordination of testing and utility acceptance.
Kiosk, integrated steel-pole and indoor substations include MV switchgear and the entered underground cable route. Other outdoor arrangements use the relevant protection configuration. The final diagram must meet the project connection requirements.
Excludes VAT, cables from the substation switchboard to the MSB/loads, live-line work, harmonic reactors, weak-ground treatment or special piling, land and special fire-protection provisions. Underground routes assume normal construction conditions and exclude road drilling and special reinstatement.
Prices are indicative investment budgets. A formal quotation follows site assessment and agreement on the configuration. Electrical selections are preliminary and require design verification before installation.
Capacity range and application conditions
The catalogue defines the enquiry range of this tool, not universal TCVN capacity limits. Single pole-mounted transformers: 15–100 kVA; three-unit banks: 3×15–3×100 kVA. Platform substations: 100–630 kVA. Steel-pole substations: 100–630 kVA; 750/800 kVA require design verification and local approval. Ground-mounted, kiosk and indoor configurations: 50–10,000 kVA. Not every configuration has a package price or the same structural design.
Reference: EVN Decision 1299/QD-EVN dated 3 November 2017, Volume 1, sections 3.3–3.4. Check the current requirements of the responsible utility before implementation. Kiosks must meet manufacturer ratings and testing requirements (IEC 62271-202); indoor and ground-mounted arrangements must meet project layout, ventilation, structural and fire-protection requirements. For multiple transformers, specify the quantity and capacity of each unit.
