What this service covers

QuangAnhcons delivers defined MV/LV electrical packages for new factories, warehouses and facility expansions in Vietnam. The scope can connect the incoming supply and transformer to main distribution, production equipment, lighting and essential electrical services, with documented interfaces to the main contractor and other MEP trades.

A defined scope from design to handover

Load and distribution planning

Build a load register by equipment, operating mode and expansion phase. Define normal, essential and standby loads, supply boundaries and the required level of operational continuity.

Switchboards and cable systems

Coordinate MSB, MDB, DB, motor feeders, ATS interfaces, busduct or cables, trays and supports. Equipment ratings and protection settings follow the system study rather than a generic capacity table.

Lighting, earthing and interfaces

Provide the agreed lighting and small-power circuits, protective conductors, bonding and grounding interfaces. Coordinate equipment isolation, HVAC power, fire-system electrical supplies and building-management signals where specified.

Installation and project coordination

Prepare coordinated routes, work methods, inspection points and shutdown plans. Resolve clashes, fire compartment penetrations, maintainability and access before installation.

Engineering decisions that shape your project

Demand and transformer capacity

Estimate demand by load group using documented operating profiles and justified diversity. For balanced three-phase electrical input power, S(kVA) = P(kW)/PF and I(A) = 1,000 × P/(√3 × U_LL(V) × PF). An illustrative 500 kW at 400 V and PF 0.90 draws about 802 A. This is a load-current example, not a breaker or cable selection.

Cable selection needs more than ampacity

Verify the installation method, ambient or soil temperature, grouping, conductor material, harmonics, voltage drop, short-circuit withstand and protective disconnection. Coordinate load current, protective-device rating and corrected cable capacity. Parallel conductors need compatible lengths, routing, termination and current sharing.

Fault level and selective protection

Assess prospective short-circuit current at each relevant board, including transformer impedance and source contribution. Verify breaking and withstand ratings, upstream/downstream coordination and the consequences of a fault on critical processes. A larger breaker alone does not increase the safe capacity of an existing feeder.

Power quality and future expansion

Review motor starts, variable-speed drives, welders and other nonlinear loads. Harmonics can affect transformers, neutrals and capacitor banks. Decide compensation and filtering from measurements or a justified study. Reserve physical space and electrical capacity separately; an empty switchboard way is not proof of spare transformer capacity.

What belongs in the bill of quantities

Typical BOQ structure — final quantities follow the agreed design. Swipe horizontally on a narrow screen.
Work or material group Measurement basis What the offer should define
Main and distribution switchboards Set / feeder Ratings, protection, metering, enclosure and verification
Power and control cables m / circuit Route, conductor, cores, size, laying method and terminations
Cable tray, ladder and supports m / set Size, finish, load, support spacing and penetrations
Lighting and small power Luminaire / outlet / point Fixture specification, controls and environmental rating
Earthing and bonding m / electrode / connection Design quantities and inspection/test points
Testing and installation services Package / test point Defined inspection records, energization coordination and training
A factory electrical quotation should distinguish source works, distribution boards, feeders, cable containment, lighting, grounding and commissioning. Civil reinstatement, generator supply, mechanical equipment, fire-system equipment and utility charges need explicit allocation. Quantities and cable routes should be traceable to the drawing revision used for pricing.

  3. Develop calculations, drawings, cable schedules and procurement specifications.
  4. Approve the BOQ, programme, access arrangements and inspection plan.
  5. Install and test by area or production phase with controlled interfaces.
  6. Complete joint inspections, acceptance, as-built records and operator handover.

Documents you should receive

  • Load schedule and electrical design basis
  • Single-line diagrams and coordinated layouts
  • Cable, protection and earthing design records for the contracted scope
  • Equipment submittals and material inspection records
  • Inspection/test results and approved protection settings
  • As-built drawings, labels, O&M information and defects register

The quotation identifies included documents, review cycles, approvals, acceptance criteria, exclusions and warranty obligations.

Frequently asked questions

Can you quote a new factory before it is built?

Yes. A coordinated layout, load schedule and supply-point information can support an initial BOQ and budget. Unknown equipment loads and routes are recorded as assumptions or provisional quantities.

Does MV/LV electrical work include all mechanical and fire systems?

Only where expressly included. Electrical power and interface wiring can be coordinated with those systems; specialist equipment, mechanical installation and statutory submissions need a clear responsibility matrix.

Can construction be phased around production?

A phased method can be developed after reviewing existing records, operating constraints, isolations and outage windows. Any temporary supply or cutover requires an approved site-specific plan.

Is a 12-month installation warranty available?

Yes, it can be stated in the quotation and contract from the agreed acceptance date. Manufacturer warranties, maintenance obligations and exclusions are documented separately.

Technical reference framework

Relevant engineering references are selected for the contracted equipment and installation. Applicable Vietnamese requirements, local network conditions, manufacturer instructions and the agreed design basis determine project compliance; listing a standard is not a certification claim.

    Reference quick estimate
No quick estimate yet. You can still submit a project quotation request.

    Quotation scope

Applies to one EVN-supplied substation with oil-immersed transformers at 22/0.4 kV (single-phase: 12.7/0.23 kV), with MV metering VTs/CTs supplied by EVN. The estimate includes the selected equipment, installation, earthing, transformer-to-main-breaker connections, design and connection documentation, and coordination of testing and utility acceptance.

Kiosk, integrated steel-pole and indoor substations include MV switchgear and the entered underground cable route. Other outdoor arrangements use the relevant protection configuration. The final diagram must meet the project connection requirements.

Excludes VAT, cables from the substation switchboard to the MSB/loads, live-line work, harmonic reactors, weak-ground treatment or special piling, land and special fire-protection provisions. Underground routes assume normal construction conditions and exclude road drilling and special reinstatement.

Prices are indicative investment budgets. A formal quotation follows site assessment and agreement on the configuration. Electrical selections are preliminary and require design verification before installation.

    Capacity range and application conditions

The catalogue defines the enquiry range of this tool, not universal TCVN capacity limits. Single pole-mounted transformers: 15–100 kVA; three-unit banks: 3×15–3×100 kVA. Platform substations: 100–630 kVA. Steel-pole substations: 100–630 kVA; 750/800 kVA require design verification and local approval. Ground-mounted, kiosk and indoor configurations: 50–10,000 kVA. Not every configuration has a package price or the same structural design.

Reference: EVN Decision 1299/QD-EVN dated 3 November 2017, Volume 1, sections 3.3–3.4. Check the current requirements of the responsible utility before implementation. Kiosks must meet manufacturer ratings and testing requirements (IEC 62271-202); indoor and ground-mounted arrangements must meet project layout, ventilation, structural and fire-protection requirements. For multiple transformers, specify the quantity and capacity of each unit.
